No. We don't sell star names. Star naming services aren't recognized by astronomers. A star map shows the real sky as it was above your chosen place on your chosen night, using real astronomical data, which is why every map is unique to its moment.

Yes. We calculate exactly where the moon was in its 29.5-day cycle on your date and render that phase precisely, including how much of the moon was lit and its age in days.

The moon is rendered from NASA imagery of the lunar surface, captured by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, a spacecraft that has mapped the moon in fine detail. That's why you can see real craters and seas on your print.

The moon's phase changes very slowly, over days rather than hours, so the time makes almost no visible difference. We calculate every moon for 10:00 PM on your chosen date.

The phase is the same everywhere on Earth on a given night, but the angle the moon appears at changes depending on where you are. Your print shows the moon as it would have looked from your chosen place.

Phase is the name of the moon's shape that night, such as Waxing Crescent or Full Moon. Illumination is how much of the moon's face was lit, as a percentage. Moon Age is how many days had passed since the last new moon. You can show or hide these details in the design tool.

Your print will show the moon exactly as it was. Around a new moon, that means a very thin crescent or an almost dark moon. You'll see it in the preview before you order, so there are no surprises.

The lines connect the stars of each constellation, and the faint curved grid marks positions in the sky, like lines of longitude and latitude on a globe. You can turn the constellation lines, the grid, the Milky Way and constellation names on or off in the design tool.

Yes. You can choose any date up to the year 2100, so you can create a map for an upcoming wedding or due date. The stars are calculated in exactly the same way as for a past date.

Every print is available in three sizes: 12 x 16 inches (30 x 40 cm), 18 x 24 inches (45 x 60 cm) and 24 x 32 inches (60 x 80 cm). You can switch between sizes in the design tool and see the price for each before you order.

The time affects the precise rotation of the sky so we recommend using the most accurate time you can recall. If you genuinely do not know the time, entering midnight will give you a beautiful and still meaningful result.

Yes. You can add names, a date, a location label and a personal message. These are incorporated into the design of the map itself, not added as a sticker or label after printing.

Yes. You can choose a font for your heading and your subheading separately, and the font options appear as soon as you start typing.

Yes. Our map builder shows you a live preview as you customize so you can see exactly what your map will look like before you place your order.

Every map is printed to order and dispatched within 1 to 2 business days. Delivery then takes 3 to 5 business days to the USA and Canada, 2 to 4 business days to the UK and Europe, and 7 to 14 business days to the rest of the world. Every order is tracked, and you'll receive a tracking email as soon as yours is on its way.

Yes. We ship to most countries worldwide. All orders include full tracking so you can follow your map from our studio to your door.

Yes. Just enter their address as the shipping address at checkout. Your order is tracked, and the tracking email goes to you, so you can follow it to their door.

Posters are shipped rolled in a protective tube or in a sturdy triangular box. Canvas prints arrive fully assembled, with reinforced corners and protective wrapping. Framed prints arrive with your print already in the frame and ready to hang, protected with corner guards inside a reinforced box.

Because every star map is made to order and entirely unique to the customer, we are unable to accept returns. If there is an issue with the quality of your print, please contact us and we will make it right.

If your map arrives damaged, please take a photograph of the packaging and the print and contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We will arrange a replacement at no cost to you.

Changes can be made within 2 hours of placing your order. After that your map enters production and changes may not be possible. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to make an amendment.
