A Date Can Hold More Than a Memory
There are dates that don't need a reminder. You know them anyway. But there's a difference between carrying a date and having somewhere to put it.
A star map holds one. We plot the stars exactly as they stood above a particular place at a particular hour, and print them with whatever words you choose beneath. Some people mark the day someone was born. Others mark the last day, or a date that belonged to the two of them and nobody else.
It's worth saying that these don't look like memorials. On a wall, a star map reads as art. Only the people who know the date understand what it is. For a lot of families that's the appeal, particularly in a shared room where a photograph would feel too public.
If you're buying for someone who's grieving, the words underneath matter more than the date. A name is often enough. Some people add a line the person used to say and leave it there.
You can change the names, add a line of your own, set how the place reads beneath the map, and choose the color of the sky. Everything updates as you go, so you see the finished piece before you order.

There's no convention here. Some people use a birthday, some the last day, some a date that only meant something to the two of them. If you're buying for someone else and would rather not ask, a birthday is usually the safer choice.
Every map is generated from astronomical data for the exact date, time and coordinates you enter. The constellation positions are the real ones for that moment.
No. If you are unsure, an approximate time is fine. The sky shifts gradually, so an hour either way makes very little visible difference.
Yes. You can add names, a line of your own text, and the location, all edited live in the design tool before you order.
Contact us as soon as you can. If the order has not gone to print we can correct it. Once printed, personalised items cannot be remade free of charge.
