A Gift They'll Cherish Forever

The People You Know Best Are the Hardest to Buy For
By December you have usually bought the same person a gift ten or fifteen times already. The obvious ideas ran out years ago, and what is left tends to be things they could just as easily buy themselves.
A star map avoids that because you are not really choosing a product. You are choosing a night. Pick a date that means something to the two of you, and we plot the stars exactly as they stood above that town at that hour.
There is no right date. Couples tend to use the night they met or the day they married. Parents use the night a child was born. Some people go back much further and pick something only the two of them would recognize.
You can add their name, write a line of your own underneath, and choose the color of the sky. Everything updates as you go, so you see the whole thing before you order.
I got one for my parents last Christmas with the date they got married on it. They thought it was such a thoughtful gift, and now display it proudly on their wall.

Frequently Asked Questions
There is no set answer for Christmas. Most people pick a date that already means something to the person receiving it: the night they met, a wedding day, or a child's birthday. If you are stuck, the day you met is the safest choice.
Every map is generated from astronomical data for the exact date, time and coordinates you enter. The constellation positions are the real ones for that moment.
No. If you are unsure, an approximate time is fine. The sky shifts gradually, so an hour either way makes very little visible difference.
Yes. You can add names, a line of your own text, and the location, all edited live in the design tool before you order.
