Every Date Wears A Different Moon
The moon is never quite the same two nights running. It moves through its cycle a little each evening, so the shape hanging over any given date belongs to that date and no other.
A moon phase print takes one of those nights and holds it. We calculate the exact phase for the date you choose and render it in full detail, craters and shadow included, with your own words printed underneath.
It suits the same occasions a star map does, though people tend to reach for it when the date matters more than the place. Birthdays, anniversaries, the night a child was born. It also works well as a pair, one for each person, hung side by side.
You can add a name, write a line of your own, and choose the color of the sky behind it. Everything updates as you go, so you see the whole thing before you order.

Any date works. Most people use a birthday, an anniversary, or the night a child was born. Because the moon changes shape nightly, the date is what makes the print specific to that moment.
Yes. The phase is calculated from astronomical data for the date you enter, so the shape shown is the shape that hung in the sky that night.
No. If you are unsure, an approximate time is fine. The sky shifts gradually, so an hour either way makes very little visible difference.
Yes. You can add names, a line of your own text, and the location, all edited live in the design tool before you order.
Contact us as soon as you can. If the order has not gone to print we can correct it. Once printed, personalised items cannot be remade free of charge.
